27 years of experience in potato genetic resources. Currently curator of the Central Colombian Potato Collection, of great importance worldwide in terms of the genetic variability of the Andigena group. He has actively participated in the knowledge of this collection, in areas of conservation of the collection in the field in processes of morphological, agronomic and physiological characterization. At the research level, he has developed and participated in research projects on potato both at a regional, national, and international level in the field of ecophysiology, genetic resources and genetic improvement, with participation in national publications in the aforementioned fields of knowledge. At the level of linkage and technology transfer, it has evaluated advanced genetic materials on producers' farms in order to launch new potato varieties.
