Biography

Chilean, graduated as Agronomist at Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile, she obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Plan Pathology at Montana State University, Bozeman, USA. She works as a researcher in plant pathology since 1988 at the Institute of agricultural research (INIA), Chile. She has specialized in the integrated management of potato diseases with more than 206 publications both scientific, proceeding, monographs, books and outreach in these areas, among these is the Interactive Potato Manual (http//manualinia.papachile.cl).  She has led more than 40 projects related to potato diseases, integrated pest management, early warning systems and risk, among other platforms. She is an active member of 4 scientific societies and 3 international scientific networks related to the potato diseases. Today is the Coordinator of the Latin American network of cooperation for the study of late blight (Latin blight) and responsible for the thematic area of plant protection of the Latin American Potato Association (ALAP).
