Biography

Howard van Meer is an Engineer, graduated from Wageningen University, the Netherlands in 2003 where he obtained an MSc in Agricultural Hydrology. He recently validated his degree at the University of Santiago del Estero, as an Agronomist Engineer. Since 2004 he has worked at INTA-EEA Santiago del Estero, where he worked as a technician in the installation and maintenance of the different rainwater collection modules, assembly and installation of the agrometeorological network and subsequent handling of the data collected. Its more specific tasks are focused on the maintenance of the INTA agro-meteorology network in the province, dissemination of this information through the website and newsletters, design and installation of drip irrigation systems, harvesting rainwater for productive purposes. and the agro-hydrological modeling of the Salí-Dulce basin in the face of climate change scenarios. He has participated in different research projects in the INTA portfolio and international projects, such as PROCISUR and FONTAGRO, with presentations at conferences on hydrological modeling in Latin America and Europe. He currently works as a member of the Natural Resources group of INTA-EEA Santiago del Estero.
