Biography

Agricultural Engineer graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). Master in Agronomy graduated from UCV. Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. From 1996 to 2000 he was a researcher in genetic improvement of rice Fundación Danac, in Venezuela. From 2005 to 2013 he was Research and Development Manager at Fundación Danac. Since March 2013, he has been Executive Director of the Latin American Fund for Irrigated Rice (FLAR), based at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), in Cali, Colombia, which brings together more than 30 organizations of the rice sector from 17 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean whose mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge, technologies and innovations, through alliances that contribute to the competitiveness and sustainability of rice.
